Mistakes To Avoid When Marketing Your Internet Home Business With Google Adwords

If you want to get traffic to your Internet home business as immediately as possible, Google Adwords is the best option. It is simplple to starting your first campaign.

However, there are numerous important steps that you need to take in order to avoid the most common mistakes that unwary Google Adword users tend to make. Typically, those who fail to make money from their Google ad words business promotions are guilty of failing to take certain steps that are really not difficult to execute.

Let’s look at the most common “Google Adword Failures”:

1. Failure to Target Keywords: this is the most basic mistake you can make with Adwords. Using generic keywords will not only raise the cost per click, but it will also result in failure to convert clicks into sales. For example, the competition for single word keywords such as “marketing” will be very fierce and that will drive up the cost per click. Many Internet home business owners focus on keywords that are very popular but also, very expensive.

However, the keyword is not very specific and so even if your ad does attract a few clicks the chances of getting a sale are really very low indeed. In short, you need to be as specific as possible when choosing your keyword phrases. Otherwise you will never get any clicks and no sales to your home based business

2. Failure to Organize Ad Groups Properly: make sure you organize your Adwords campaigns into closely related Adword groups. Starting with your primary keywords, build a series of tightly focused and related keyword phrases for each ad group. It does not matter how many ad groups you create, as long as the terms within each group are tightly related and not too numerous. Twenty ad groups with 10 to 15 related phrases in each one is better than five ad groups with forty or fifty phrases per group.

3. Failure to Track Ad Performance: this is a common but crazy failure when you consider that Google supplies its own free tracking service. If you don’t track your ads you will have no idea which ones are working and which are not. You can track individual keywords within the groups, so not only can you find which groups are performing best you can also find your best performing keywords within the groups.

4. Failure to Budget Properly: If you set your daily budget to low you will not get much traffic at all because daily budget is one of the factors that Google measures when deciding which adds to prioritise. A single Google ad on a five dollars a day budget is really not going to achieve very much for you. Essentially, this means that if you have less than $150 a month to invest in Google ads you probably avoid Google ad words altogether.

However, it is also important to avoid the opposite mistake of not capping your daily Adwords budget and of trying to gun for the top spot with every ad. It is worth experimenting with ad placements to see if you can save money by aiming for third, fourth, or even fifth or sixth spots for your keyword terms. In this way you will get more exposure for your ad at less expense and you may find that you can achieve a good click through rate in those positions.

By avoiding these common mistakes you will have a much better chance of succeeding with your Internet home businesses marketing campaign

What Have You Done To Increase Your Number Of Backlinks Today

If you own a Internet home business I am sure you have heard how building backlinks to your website is a very important aspect of the business. It is such a major aspect of marketing on the Internet that many people spend their entire day doing nothing but finding ways to increase the number of links pointing to their site.

So the question is “What Have You Done To Increase Your Number Of Backlinks Today ? “

Many new Internet marketers become overwhelmed once they realize the shear number of links they will need to move their website up to the top of the search engine rankings. Unfortunately, many simply give up after only a few weeks thinking it is impossible to build substantial amount of links to their site.

First of all do not think of the total number of backlinks you need. Think of your linking building as a daily part of your business that will grow over time.

Secondly do not try to build them all at once. You will most likely become burned out and then stop altogether . It is much better to slowly grow your backlinks over time.

There are several well documented methods of building the number of links to your site and ideally you should use as many as possible. Time is the major factor, most people who start a Internet home business already have a day job and after a long day at work do not want to spend several more hours on the computer building links their website.

If you are one of these people then forum marketing is how you should be spending what little time you have to promote your Internet home business. Visiting one or two forums a day and posting a few comments or questions with a signature link to your website will start to pay off in a short amount of time. You should do this everyday. Even if you only spend thirty minutes a day you will gain links

Article marketing is the by far the most recognized method of link building. This also can be very time consuming but the rewards are well worth it. The best method for those short on time, write several short articles at one time and then over the course of a week or two submit them individually to as many article directories as possible.

Submitting articles to each directory only takes a few minutes each and this should be done several times each week. There are many sites that for a fee will do this for you but if money is a issue then I suggest submitting them manually.

The key is to do something everyday, even if only for a few minutes. Find a comfortable daily routine and stick with it. Your home business will grow with every link you build.

Free Internet Home Business Marketing Tips

One hurdle that many new Internet home business owners face is how to promote there website. While Pay Per Click advertising can be effective it can be very costly. So is it possible to market a website with little to no money? Absolutely,
Here are my top 4 free online marketing methods:

Article Marketing – A typical article can be anything from 250 to 750 words long. Articles posted on article directories can help you get more traffic to your website via the link in your article signature file. Each article can also help the specific web page it links to to rank higher in the search engines for specific keyword phrases, which will then bring more targeted traffic to your web page.

If writing articles seems difficult, simply write shorter articles focused on just one or two points relating to the web page you want to promote. Write a series of 250 word articles and post them on article directories that accept shorter articles.

Do-It-Yourself Search Engine Optimization – You can find out a lot about simple SEO techniques free of charge by doing some basic online research via Google. Study the techniques and build each of your web pages around sound basic SEO principles. This will attract some traffic to your site naturally – that is, without you having to do any active publicity work.

This is especially effective if you combine SEO with longtail keyword phrases. Longtail keywords are longer keyword phrases that are very specific, attract a smaller number of more highly targeted visitors and are much less competitive than more common keywords. If you build a series of ten webpages around ten longtail phrases, and each page attracts just fifty visits per month, that will amount to 500 visits in total from highly targeted traffic. The more you build the more your traffic will continue to grow without you having to do any further work.

Blogging - Blogging is a free or very cheap way to build an online presence. Some affiliate marketersstick solely to blogging and focus on building an online presence through the power of their blog posts alone. So if you have a lively writing style and a lot to say for yourself, start blogging! Whether you use Blogger, Wordpress, TypePad or some other blogging platform, blogs tend to get great results on the search engines. A blog post around a longtail keyword can appear on the first page of Google for that search term within hours of being published.

Posting blog comments – This marketing tactic needs to be done with care. Find popular blogs that are related to your market niche and post responses to the blog posts. When posting a comment you are usually allowed to include a website url which will hyperlink your name when your comment appears on the blog. Always post constructive comments in response to the topic of the blog. Remember, high quality comments will be appreciated and will get people curious to find out more about you. They will then click on the link and arrive on your website.

As you can see, there are plenty of ways to get free traffic to your website. Nobody with an Internet connection can be said to be too poor to build and promote a Internet home business

4 Tips To Promote Your Internet Home Business With Forums

Marketing your Internet home business in discussion forums can be an excellent source of targeted traffic if you do it right. Most people understand that they should be doing forum marketing, but are unclear on how to go about it. Here are four ways you can do for marketing better than you may currently be doing it.

1. Find a handful of forms to join in and become active in them. You want to hang out where people have common interests that relate to the theme of your business.

It may take a little while for you to become comfortable with a small list of forums, but eventually you will settle in on ones that work best for you. This is a much better approach than trying to join a high number of discussion forums and not participating on a regular basis in any of them.

2. Create a signature file that contains products not everybody else is selling. Also don’t include products in your signature file for a product that everyone else already has.

For example if you are in a membership site, there is no sense putting a link to that membership site in your sig file. It is amazing how many people do that.

One other thing is do not overcrowd your signature file. You will get better results if you target a couple of your favorite websites or products and refer people to those.

3. Work at creating credibility within the forum. You do this by being helpful and providing quality information.

Many people think that the number of posts they make is more important than the quality of them. You will find that people respect you, and will go to your signature file more often, if you are providing quality responses to the questions they have.

This is known as adding value to the discussion and is extremely important if you want to do forum better.

4. Do not spam in any forum post. This is the quickest way to lose your credibility and to get banned by the forum itself. Spamming a forum post is where your answer is written in the form of a sales pitch as opposed to being a helpful answer.

These are four ways to do forum marketing better. Many people make a full time living on the Internet today doing nothing more than marketing their business in forums. They get more quality traffic, sell more products, and make more friends for future business, just through this excellent form of Internet marketing.

Use Facebook Pages To Build Your Internet Home Business

The Internet continues to evolve everyday and with it how people communicate to each other. If you own a Internet home business then you know how important getting traffic to your site and to keep in touch with the contacts that you make. Facebook is one of the best ways to do both.

Facebook now has over 400 million users worldwide, 100 million of whom live in the USA.

Facebook is fast becoming Google’s biggest rival, with Facebook Ads set to take a lot of business away from Google Adwords.

As such Facebook has become simply too big for a serious Internet marketers to ignore, but I am betting that the majority Internet home business owners have not even begun to consider Facebook as one of the most important weapons in their Internet marketing strategy. This is partly because a lot of people still think of Facebook as being the place on the Internet where you link up with your friends and family and feel uncomfortable mixing social chat with business promotion.

One solution to this problem might be to create multiple Facebook accounts except that Facebook strictly limits each person to just one Facebook account (http://www.facebook.com/help/?faq=12839).

So what do you do if you want to tap into the huge amount of traffic that is available on Facebook but are not ready to buy Facebook Ads and don’t want to clog up the news feed on your personal Facebook page with a lot of business messages, sales pitches and spammy comments from “friends” who you have never met and who are hoping to do business with you?

One thing you can do is simply edit your newsfeed to accept posts from people you want to hear from. While that is a good way to clean up your Facebook page without deleting business friends from your list, it doesn’t do much to help you publicise your business brand.

The solution to the problem is to take advantage of Facebook pages. A Facebook page can be used to market a specific product or service through your Facebook account. Once you have a Facebook page set up you can promote it and invite other Facebook users to become “fans” of your page. Fans are not the same as friends and they won’t show up on your main Facebook site although news from any pages that you become a fan of will show up in your news feed.

Setting up a series of Facebook pages for each of your products or services is a great way to tightly segment your Facebook traffic into specific audiences and to keep your business activities away from your social activities.

You can post text, photos, videos, discussion boards and numerous other Facebook applications to your page. The page will also provide good link juice to your other webpages and blogs.

Speaking of blogs, you can publicize your fan pages on your blog and set up blog feeds on your fan pages.

What kind of fan pages will do well on Facebook?

Of course, like everything else, it depends on how much effort you put into it, but it is good to know that the leading demographic profile on Facebook is the “young educated women” bracket, so if you can find a product or service to match that niche you might be onto a winner.

Facebook pages are free and easy to set up. All you need to do is go to http://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php to get started.

How To Market Your Internet Home Business To Your Opt-In List

In my last post I talked about the importance of having a opt-in list to grow your Internet home business. Once you start building your list of subscribers and are providing them a useful newsletter full of interesting content you are now ready to increase the number of ways you can market to your list.

While the main aim of an e-mail newsletter is to provide your subscribers with useful content and use that as a means to quietly promote your own business, once your list has reached a certain level of several hundred, or several thousand subscribers (depending on the nature of your business) it becomes feasible to feature other people’s businesses and products in your newsletter and make money from doing so.

Here are some other ways you can market to your opt-in list:

1. One of the quickest ways to make some extra money from your list is to feature other peoples business products in your newsletter. And the fastest way to do that is simply to join affiliate programs and to feature the company’s products in your newsletter. Test the products and write well balanced product reviews and editorial pieces about the companies you are affiliated to.

2. Sell some space in your newsletter for banner ads and classified ads. Banner ads will work with HTML formatted newsletters but not with plain text mailings. Classified ads will work in any newsletter format.

3. Set up a book review section and review books relevant to your business niche. Add affiliate links to the Amazon bookstore. This won’t make you a lot of money, but it will contribute to your bottom line and provide interesting content for your readers.

4. Find someone who runs a good quality newsletter in a similar niche to your own and who has a good-sized list of subscribers and set up an article exchange. Those out one of his or her articles to your list and have him or her send out one of your articles to his or her list. This is a good way to leverage the value of your list without compromising the privacy of your readers.

5. Whenever you have some old stock that you want to clear, offer it to your list first at fire sale prices.

6. If you sell a range of products, look at ways to bundle them up into packages that you can offer at a discount to your list.

7. Offer a basic product and includes silver and gold upgrades. For example if you sell an information product, you can also offer an audio and video/DVD as silver and gold upgrade options.

8. Send your subscribers e-mail alerts about new product releases with special price reductions before releasing the new products to the general market. This makes your subscribers feel special and gives them an incentive to remain on your list and to continue reading your newsletter.

9. Set up special “thank you” pages for your newsletter customers so that when they buy a product from you they will be presented with an extra special discount offer on the backend.

10. Create an exclusive members’ site for your newsletter subscribers way you can gather together all your offers and make them available in a single place.

As you can see, there are many ways that you can market to  your list, so it is worth making an effort to grow your list and to build a solid relationship with your subscribers.

Build A Relationship With Your Opt-In List Subscribers For Your Internet Home Business

If you do not have a have an opt in e-mail list for your Internet home  business , and if your web page does not have an opt in form for people to add themselves to your list, you are neglecting one of the most profitable aspects of building a business on the Internet.

Regardless of the size of your Internet home business , building and cultivating a list of people who are interested in receiving e-mail from you can make a huge difference. When people visit your website and fill-in your opt in form they are giving you permission to keep them informed about any developments on your website and also to tell them about your business.

What makes an opt-in e-mail list owner safe from accusations of spam is that everybody on the list has not only filled in the opt-in form on your website, but they have also received a confirmation request e-mail from your auto responder and will have clicked a confirmation link in the body of the e-mail. In short, each subscriber on your list has sent you his or her name and e-mail address and confirmed that he or she is willing to hear from you.

Of course, just because somebody has gone through the double opt in process it does not mean that he or she will read your newsletters. Now it is up to you to provide useful and interesting content, and to encourage your opt-in list subscribers to open the e-mail by writing compelling headlines that arouse their curiosity. Make sure though that the content of your e-mail delivers on the promise of the headline otherwise your subscribers will feel cheated or disappointed and will either unsubscribe from your list or simply stop opening your e-mail.

Another key to building a list of subscribers who actually read your e-mail messages is to avoid the temptation to over sell your business. If every single one of your e-mails does nothing more than try to persuade your subscribers to buy your products or join your business opportunity you will probably be disappointed with the results. Certainly your subscribers will quickly stop reading your messages.

Instead of trying to sell to your list of subscribers, try to build a relationship with them. To do that it is important that you think about what your subscribers actually want from you. Most likely what they want is useful information about the market niche that your business is serving. They also want to be entertained. So right from the start to make sure that you inform and educate your subscribers with lively, entertaining and cheerful messages. Then you will be able to introduce them to your products and services later.

How late is “later”?

It could be via a brief sentence and a link at the end of your e-mail, or you could add a little business promotion and web link in the PS section of your e-mail. Or you could choose to avoid any direct promotion at all in the first few messages that you send out.

Really it is a matter of finding the formula that works best for you and your subscribers. But the point is to show them that you are an expert in your field whose judgement can be trusted, and to entertain them in the process. Warm and informative newsletters are vital to winning over your subscribers, and winning over your subscribers is of course important to your ultimate objective which is building sales for your business.

And opt in e-mail list gives you the luxury of being able to build a warm and trusting business relationship with a potentially unlimited number of people for no more than the cost of a professional auto responder service and the time it takes you to research and write your newsletter messages. So don’t neglect to build your list, and don’t sabotage your efforts by trying to sell to your list before you have warmed up your readership and won them over. Win them over and you will have turned strangers into customers for life.

Are You Ready To Make Money With A Internet Home Business?

Can I really make money with a Internet home business? I think this is a good question but a better question would be are you ready to make money with a Internet home business?

In order to make money from the Internet you first must decide on how much if anything you are willing to spend.

While people will spend money on programs in the hopes that they will earn more back in commissions, there are many programs you can join without spending a dime and start to make money from the Internet.

One of the more popular methods is getting paid to take online surveys. There are many free survey sites you can join and earn money every time you complete a survey.

You will not spend anything to do these types of programs. The exception will be the amount of time you spend for the little income you get back in return.

For example doing an online survey could take as long as 15 minutes and pay you $.50 to $1 dollar.

As you can see you are not going to make much money by the hour, but you get to do it at home which is nice. All of these programs have referral programs where you can increase the amount of money you make signing up new members.

Another option is affiliate marketing which  doesn’t cost anything to join and you get free websites and marketing materials to promote. You can learn free promotion methods such as article marketing to help drive traffic to your site.

MLM is a very popular method and also one of the most profitable. There are things to consider when choosing this form of Internet home business, monthly cost, does it offer something that many people would want or use, are you willing to spend the time promoting it, etc.

As you can see the biggest expense you will have is time. Two of the methods I’ve mentioned are free to join and while you will not get rich doing them it will get you started in making money from home and many people use the money they make from taking online surveys to help cover the cost of a MLM program until they start making a full time income with their Internet home business.
