In order to succeed with a Internet home business you must have backlinks. They are key to your rankings with the search engines so gaining as many as possible should be the goal of any website owner.

Backlinks are the key to succeeding with your Internet home business. In a nutshell, the more backlinks you have the higher the traffic exchanges rank your site and the more traffic you will receive.

Unfortunately building the total of backlinks to your website can be a rather time consuming process. There are websites that for a fee will build backlinks for you but with these you usually have no control of the quality of the link that you receive and the fees they charge can be quite high.

Most people who start their new home based business are (or should be) on a tight budget and paying a fee for backlinks is an expense that most avoid. There is also my somewhat old fashioned belief that when you do something for yourself you will have a higher satisfaction and in turn higher results with your business.

So rather then trying to build thousands of backlinks at once and paying someone to do it for you the better plan is to build them slowly learning as you go.

Everyday you should try to build a small, steady amount of links. If you set a goal of ten backlinks a day you soon will have thousands of links pointing to your site.

Posting in forums is a easy way to get a backlink. You should find four or five active forums in a niche similar to your Internet home business. Many forums allow you to post a signature and this is were you place a link to your site.

Visit each of your favorite forums each day and make one or two posts in each. Every post in the forum will have a link to your site and as you continue to make posts your reputation will grow and so will traffic to your site as people begin to trust you and want to use your services.

Commenting on blogs is another popular method for backlinks. A Google search of your particular niche will most likely bring thousands of blogs. Visit four or five of blogs a day and leave a comment. Each time you leave a comment you also leave a link back to your site. Its important that your comment is not promoting your business. It should be thanking the owner for the information in their post.

Submitting your website to directories is another way to build links. The big players Google, MSN, and Yahoo will find your site so there is no need to submit it to them. However, there are thousands of small website directories that require you to manually submit your website to them. Some will want to charge a fee. As I mentioned there are thousands of these sites and many are free so there is really no need to pay anything.

You should submit your site to at least five directories a day. Again, there are companies that will submit your site to these directories but there is a fee and I believe in never paying someone for something I can do myself.

If you use these three methods on a regular basis you will soon have thousands of backinks and your traffic to your site will steadily grow.
