TipDrop Offers A Change To Twitter And Micro-Blogging
There is a new micro-blogging platform to compete against Twitter. Recently introduced by John Ledger TipDrop is very similar to twitter in the layout of the site deploying a two column layout with messages appearing in the wider left-hand column, and the user’s information appearing in the narrower right-hand column.
There are several features that that set TipDrop apart from Twitter and make it appealing to a Internet home business owner.
On Tipdrop you can include up to ten URL links as part of your profile. Those links appear in the right-hand column of your Tipdrop homepage.
On both sides the key question appears at the top of the main page. In Twitter’s case the question is the famously self-centered, “What are you doing?” Tipdrop, however, is not interested in what you are doing right now, but wants to know, “What do you know about that?”
By focusing on what you know rather than what you do, Tipdrop is developing a character all of its own, completely different from the gossipy triviality of Twitter. By sharing knowledge about specific topics, each contribution is focused outward on the topic, rather than inward on the person posting the information.
The tips are organized into categories such as Arts & Humanities, Dining Out, Personal Development and so on. Whenever you post a tip about something you are presented with several similar threads to help you find the best place to post your tip. If none of the threads cover your topic you can simply post it as a new thread.
Another neat feature of TipDrop is that it comes with Adsense revenue sharing deal to into the system. If you have an Adsense account, all you need to do is enter your absence publisher ID in the appropriate field on the Settings page. Then, whenever people click on the ads that appear on your pages, Tipdrop will 75% of the generated revenue with you.
Tipdrop is easy to join. Just like joining Twitter, it is simply a matter of hitting the Sign Up button on the home page and filling in a short online form with your name, username, password, and e-mail address. And, just like Twitter, it is 100% free.
I doubt that Tipdrop will completely replace Twitter because despite the similarities, they have different intentions behind them. However, what already seems obvious is that Tipdrop is a micro-blogging website that is set to grow and grow and become a leading source of online tips and advice across a wide range of categories.

Hi John,
TipDrop is easy to setup and Free to join. It’s very similar with Twitter and has more space to give out your tips, especially you can earn money.
Thanks
Kha
John, very nice post on the advantages that are quickly apparent with TipDrop.
One thing that always bugged me about Twitter is the number of users who have nothing to say but random useless tweets, broken up only by ads. It’s nice to see a service that allow one to gain exposure the right way!

Hi Aaron-
Thanks for stopping by. I’ve grown tired of all the useless posts on Twitter also. My wife had never been on Twitter before and this morning I showed it to her. Her response “That’s it ? It seems kinda silly” I could not respond.
Hi Kha-
I like the fact that you get more characters then Twitter also. The chance to make a little adsense revenue is just icing on the cake.
TipDrop is based on the micro blogging concept that Twitter was built on but this has a very unique twist, people create tipsheets with a certain subject title .
