Have A Business Plan For Your Home Based Business

 If you have decided to start a home based business the first thing you must realize is that it is a BUSINESS. To most people when they picture going into business they think of the traditional “brick and mortar” type of business. But in today’s world a money making business is possible from the comfort of your home but it still requires a business plan.

The biggest mistake made when starting an intranet business is no planning. To often the budding entrepreneur will see an add for easy riches and jump in thinking they will become rich with little work. They mistakenly believe that making a substantial income off the intranet will be as easy as finding a free web site and let the rest take of it self.

            Unfortunately these people are set up for failure before they even begin. They fall for the free gimmicks all too many unscrupulous web sites run. With promises of double commissions and income for life people sign up for the free program only to be mislead into signing up for the GOLD or BRONZE option or whatever the affiliate program is trying to up sell without even making their first sale at the lower commission.

            A solid business plan is key for any start up business. First you must research the different products and items to you want to offer. Finding your “niche” is vital. What market are you going after? Then the most important part, research your competition. There are hundreds of thousands of web sites all offering the same service as you. If you want to make a serious income with your online business you must first find a way to stand out.

            After finding your niche you must set you budget. Regardless of what the add states that you signed up for there are going to be expenses. A quality web site with your own unique domain name is not free. Then there are email campaigns that require an auto-responder. Both of these are very minimal expenses (usually less than fifty dollars a month) but are a must have to run a successful home based business.   

            The best thing someone starting out with an intranet business can do is start slow. Don’t upgrade to every option available and not buy every advertising gimmick that comes along. Some of the best upgrades that are offered to new affiliates offer the new business owner information on how to run there business, not higher commissions.   

            Blogging and article eventually bring traffic and then you can start to spend the money to grow your business more.
