Marketing Your Internet Home Business With Forums
Many people who start a Internet home business search for methods to promote them without the expense of advertising. One of the most popular methods to promote a home business is by joining Internet forums and add to the conversations.
If you are unfamiliar with Internet forums they are membership sites that the content is generated by users. Basically when someone joins they are able to read and respond to messages posted by other members.
As members read and respond to the comments the conversation continues to grow. The idea is to make several relevant posts to a conversation and start to make a name for yourself.
It is also important to post in forums that are relevant to your particular Internet home business. If your website is promoting weight loss than posting in a financial planning forum will in all likelihood be of no benefit to you. However, you may want to start with joining a few forums the specialize in Internet marketing to get a few tips on how to promote your business and to see how the top posters quietly promote their business.
When you have found a suitable forum to join it is important to do so properly. You don’t want to just jump right in and offer all kinds of advice. Most forums will have a thread for new members to introduce themselves and list their experience. Start here and then move to other topics.
People visit forums daily to find and share information. The last thing people want to see is someone doing nothing but advertising there Internet home business so when you post be sure to stay on topic and resist the urge to blatantly say visit my site!
By adding a brief sentence or two about yourself as well as link to your website in the signature file, you will gain a link to your site. If your posts are meaningful than people will begin to trust you and will visit your site.
Each time you post, your signature file will be quietly pointing people back to your website. And as your reputation grows, more people will be interested to find out more about you.
Posting in forums can be a little time consuming and at first the benefits may not be realized. It is best to post in a few forums and work on growing your reputation as someone who is knowledgeable about a particular subject. As you continue to build your reputation and continue to post the goal of increased traffic to your website will be realized.

Hi Everyone,
I have a carpet cleaning business in Houston,TX that was doing pretty good until the economy went bad, and with it my clientele. I have a website for the business but I dont
know what I have to do the get it to show up in a search. Right now it’s somewhere in the yahoo/google netherworld (LOL).
Is there someone on here that can give me some insight or know of anyone that coud give me insight on how I can get my local website on the front
page of a Yahoo or Google search to increase my business without it costing me 5 or 10k $$$? If so please share with me.

I would try posting in forums. I did a Google search of “Houston Forums” and received 12800 results. Find a few good ones and post in them. Ask a few questions, answer a few and before long people will begin to trust you as a expert in your field and start asking about your service.
If possible include a link to your site with every post and your traffic will increase.
